Summer Thoughts

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

August is 1/3 over, so it is time to think about re-entering the regular schedule of life.  School for the kids and work for the parents.  As you think about this, consider one or two things while you have the time.

  • Keep on giving to the ministry, even if you are away.  July and August always put a pinch on the church pocketbook.  If we could continue our pattern of giving through those months it would be a help.
  • Think about where you can participate in the fall.  Everyone should be part of the worshipping community on Sunday, but it is also good to be in a smaller group for study and prayer.  It can be a bible study, Sunday class, or age based group.  Check out our schedule and plan to do more than drop in for an hour.
  • Have you thought about GATEWAY? This is the lay leader and lay pastor training program we will begin in September.  Yes, YOU, could be a student of this program.  There is a blog with detailed information at: http://gatewaymadison.wordpress.com or you can talk to Pastor Dave.
