Our next meeting is January 31 - a New Years (+1) Lunch after the service. We will have subs and whever the group wants to provide.

January 17 - Annual Meeting and Pot Luck

After the morning service on Sunday, January 17, we will have a business meeting. This meeting will include the annual budget and the election of officers.

Potluch supper follows the meeting.

December 25 - Christmas Day Service

We will have a Christmas Day service at 10:30am. The emphasis will be on remembering the Story. Children will have a Children’s Message and the be released for a “Birthday Party for Jesus.” Join us!

Advent is About Jesus

            The Advent season starts on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day. This year it begins on November 29.
            Advent is a way that we can reclaim Christmas from the tangled string of things to do and things to buy that fill the month of December. In Advent, we should remember that this season is About Jesus.
            The Sermon series this December is called “About Jesus”. We will continue our exploration of what we believe as a church by asking who Jesus is. This will take us to Old Testament prophecies as well as New Testament fulfillments in the life of Jesus.
            Our Children’s Church will be about the people who were important in bringing Jesus to us: John the Baptist who prepared the way for Him – we need to be prepared. Mary who was willing to be the loving mother to the Savior – we need to be willing to serve. Joseph, who said little but kept his word. The Angels, who show us how to celebrate Jesus’ birth. The Magi, who show us how to worship the Son with our gifts.
            On Christmas Day we will have a celebration – the Children’s Church will have a Birthday Party for Jesus – yes like a real Birthday Party!

            Many churches and individuals have rediscovered the joys of a more simple and more Christ focused Christmas Season. There is a group called the Advent Conspiracy (www.adventconspiracy.org), and this is what they say we ought to do:

November Events

The We Believe sermon series continues to consider who we are as human beings. We belive God created and spoke TO US.
Youth Rally, November 14, several Lao church youth groups come together at Bethany, starting at 3pm. All youth are welcome, the gathering will be in English - with good music.
Praise & Pies - on Thanksgivig Eve, November 25, bring a pie to share and a voice for singing. We meet in Rom Chapel, downstairs, for a hymn sing and then for a time with pies and conversation 6:30pm.
Advent begins on the last Sunday, November 29.

Tim and Rachel Uthman Visit - October 11

Tim and Rachel work with refugees in Rome, Italy. They will share their work in the Adult Sunday Class (9:00am) and in the Worship Service (10:30am). Come and hear what they have been doing.

20s & 30s Group
