As of this month, our goal for the roof repair has been met. There have been several generous gifts, and many have been praying and giving bit by bit for more than the past year.
Roberts Construction is set to begin the work as soon as they receive the supplies.
Now as to our Future - we have other projects for follwing years, and we have the need to develop our ministry and our leadership - but for now let’s take a minute and give thanks.
Men Following God will meet for breakfast and a discussion of God and our Time at 7:30am. Our motto is “In and out before the hardware store opens.”
They are paving Williamson Street this week and next, and a ribbon cutting is scheduled for October 17. That project is almost done.
We have asked the roof contractor to start on the church building, because we have received the funds we need to pay for Phase One - the main roof, office flat roof and “eyebrow roofs” over the walkways.
Thanks to all of you who have given so generously.
Be aware that Sunday, September 25, will see that many downtown streets are to be closed for an event called Ride the Drive. If you come from the West or the South side, you may need to adjust your route.
In the next week or two (by the end of Septermber) the major repair of our main roof and flat roogs will begin. We have received over $64,000 of the $74,000 needed for the project. We know further funds are coming. Thank you for giving but most of all Thanks to the Lord.

The Leadership Board has added $15,000 from our reserves to the Future Fund. We now have the funds needed to repair the main roof. If we can raise an additional $15,000 in the near future, we will be able to repair the office flat roof and the small “eyebrow” roofs which cover the walkways.

Dr. Charles Yu will speak at Bethany during the Pastor’s vacation.

Charles Yu has earned his PhD in Old Testament from teh UW Madison and currently works on InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Staff at the UW. He and hsi family live in the Madison area.
Charles, who speaks Mandarin, will aslo speak at the Greater Madison Chinese EFC service on August 14.
